we call them spider lillies. I've seen an occasional one where I live now but, where I grew up they pop up everywhere. they are mostly on older home sites. They pop up and bloom in the very early fall. aren't they wonderful?

AS STAR MAGNOLIAS TIP US OFF THAT SPRING IS CLOSE AT HAND, SPIDER LILIES TRUMPET FALL AND COOLER WEATHER IS ON THE WAY....GOTTA LOVE THE WAY NATURE TALKS TO US IF WE TAKE THE TIME TO LISTEN...
I heard Robert tell somebody on the phone the other night that hunting season is close because spider lillies are popping up. They are EVERYWHERE right now. (well not in my yard.. but did you expect any???!?!)
