"I love being a 4th grader"

We had a good back-to-school morning - no grumpiness, no whining, no tears, all excitement and smiles! There were pigs-in-a-blanket for breakfast and Carly got this super cute watch for a back-to-school happie. She was saying thank you and she said "hey mom, you know why I like it so much? because it is my 2 favorite colors." No, like that just happened?
She gave her goodies to her teacher but declined my request to take a picture of her with her new teacher. She said "no thank you". I barely got this quick shot. I think she reflexively smiled before she realized I was actually taking pictures {horrors!}.
There was no shyness when she wanted to show off her LOCKER! She thought her morning was good, she loved her teacher, but her locker is AWESOME! When I dropped her off, I couldn't leave fast enough for her but when I came to pick her up she couldn't wait for me to come see her locker. This year Carly also went "upstairs". For the last 3 years she has been on the same hall. So over the years, we have gotten to know everyone and it feels very comfortable. But 4th grade is upstairs. Exciting stuff!!
All this added up to "I love being a 4th grader".
We'll see how long that last.....

That's pretty cool that she gets to have a locker as a 4th grader. I don't think we have lockers until 7th grade! I always loved having a locker.

She is growing up so fast. I can't believe she is a 4th grader. Oh, and how cool that she is upstairs now. Have a great school year Carly.

and one more thing.. I love school uniforms. Look how "uniform" they look coming down the stairs. I so wish we would go there. But, it will never happen....

yes to the flip flops as long as they are leather they "can not be made to go in the water"
love uniforms myself for several reasons!

Wow, an exciting day! A locker..she's lucky. They don't have lockers here at all. Love the watch, very cool.

Luci let me take pics at the bus stop but when I met her up at the school about 20 minutes later she refused pics! Guess it's not cool anymore.

I wish we had uniforms!!! Would be so easy to dress everyone! My kids moved upstairs last year...it was harder on me then it was on them! This is our last year of grade school, then onto JR. High!!!

What kind of goodies do you put in your basket for the teacher? I love your idea!
